Poppy is a full-time trainer and behavior consultant with Instinct Portland. She offers in-home private training and behavior modification and home school programs. She has over ten years of experience in the field, and has collaborated extensively with a veterinary behaviorist in working with complex behavior issues.

Poppy is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and Certified Behavior Consultant through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT).

Background & Approach

Poppy is skilled at helping clients navigate reactivity, aggression, fear, and anxiety, and also enjoys training basic life manners. Her years of collaboration with a veterinary behaviorist have given her a grounded, science-based perspective on the cases families often find most challenging.

Poppy has expertise in puppy development and cooperative care, and loves to design fun and rewarding programs that enrich the lives of dogs and their families.

Beyond the Clinic

Poppy has an 11-year-old Chihuahua named Turtle, a mellow companion whose on-leash reactivity is now happily a thing of the past.
